Narendra Verma hails from a family of jewelers and musicians. A civil engineer by profession, he was trained in vocal and instrumental music from early childhood and has dedicated himself to music as well. He is a senior disciple of the renowned tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha and belongs to the Panjab Gharana style of tabla playing. He is also a disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar from whom he has learnt the nuances of accompaniment and the basics of sitar playing.


Narendra has performed extensively with many of India's leading musicians. His style as an accompanist is one of firm and aesthetic support. His solo performances are characterized by musical dynamism and mathematical intricacies. Narendra is the director-teacher at the Alla Rakha College of Music.
